About The Position:

The Mental Health Therapist will work in a retail setting co-located within a primary care clinic in the Carrollton, TX area. 

**Must hold active TX LCSW**

This unique opportunity offers the chance to engage with individuals demonstrating mild to moderate behavioral health conditions and to support them through their recovery process. The therapist will provide assessments, referrals, triage, and treatment.

The MHT will be responsible to build a diverse patient base through the connection to the retail clinic while also reaching out to the community to build critical relationships that drive referrals to the clinic.  This is most achieved by representing at community and networking events, outreach to schools, social agencies, providers, community organizations, etc.  This role will also assume responsibility for the business operations of the program. i.e. responsible for the day-to-day administration of the practice including awareness of scheduling and billing and coordination of payment collection.

  Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with other clinicians, the primary care clinic and with other service providers to support a holistic and integrated approach to care, partnering with clients to develop person-centered treatment plans
  • Provide brief behavioral interventions using outcomes and evidence-based techniques such as solution focused treatment, behavioral activation, problem-solving treatment, motivational interviewing, or other treatments as appropriate
  • Formulate independent psychosocial diagnosis
  • Systematically track treatment response and monitors clients (in person or virtually) for progress towards treatment goals and objectives.
  • Support psychotropic medication management as prescribed by medical providers, focusing on treatment adherence monitoring, side effects, and effectiveness of treatment
  • Build and maintain ongoing relationships within the community by orchestrating outreach efforts to drive referrals through partnership with social agencies/ providers/ schools/ and other potential referral entities within the community
  • Participation in health and wellness activities within the community to build and maintain relationships within the community. 
  • Involvement with the retail store Associates program to increase awareness of behavioral health services and to drive referrals
  • Delivery of new referrals to drive business needs
  • Manage the business operations of the practice, collecting payments, managing cash, and reporting to stakeholders

Position Requirements:

  • Self-starter experienced with managing time within productivity, quota driven work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain critical community relationships that result in referral business both external and internal to the retail setting
  • Ability to report and present information/data effectively
  • Knowledge and experience using management information systems, including EMR, word processing, and spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Word and Excel experience preferred)
  • Working knowledge of differential diagnosis of common mental health and/or substance abuse disorders, when appropriate
  • Working knowledge of evidence-based psychosocial treatments and brief behavioral interventions for common mental health disorders, when appropriate (e.g. Motivational interviewing, problem­ solving treatment, behavioral activation)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in a team setting, in public and in front of groups
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Contribute:

Education:  Master’s Degree in a behavioral health-related field and licensure as health professional is required.

Required Licensures: Current, valid and unrestricted license in Texas in a mental health field that is permitted to be credentialed with Medicare and Medicaid (Ph.D.,LCSW)

Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in a behavioral health setting/managed care experience. Outpatient care with brief solution focused training strongly preferred. Experience building and maintaining relationships within the community to build referral relationships required.   Experience in chronic disease management and health promotion preferred.  Experience treating children and adolescents strongly preferred
