About the Position:

Beacon Health Options is currently seeking a dynamic Claims Operations Support Manager to join our team in Latham, NY! The Claims Operations Support Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of all Document Control functions. This includes managing inbound and outbound mail processes, close liaison and management of vendors that provide mail operations services to Beacon, managing adherence to procedures/policies, ensuring quality in all functions, handling personnel matters, interacting on behalf of customers with other internal departments, resolving complex department issues and acting as a mentor to the department staff.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Beacon’s inbound mail processes to ensure that incoming mail, including paper claims and correspondence handled by Beacon’s vendor, is managed effectively, timely, and according to vendor or Client contractual SLAs.
  • Oversee and manage Beacon’s outbound mail fulfillment processes to ensure that outbound mail, including EOBs, member denial letters and correspondence handled by Beacon or vendors, is managed effectively, timely, and according to vendor or Client contractual SLAs.
  • Direct policy management to assure all requirements impacting vendor services to Beacon are accounted for and documented in policy and/or workflow documents. Assure that policies and workflows are operationalized correctly.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and successfully implement them.
  • Perform strategic planning, development and communication with direct Supervisor and Senior Leadership as related to corporate goals and objectives.
  • Provide daily supervision of local and remote reporting personnel, which includes work allocations, make recommendations for personnel actions and approve motivational plans and/or programs for individual development in order to operate at peak productivity.
  • Undertake recruitment and hiring as required.
  • Undertake self and team performance management activities to ensure that departmental goals are met or exceeded.
  • Develop and maintain cohesive working relationships with internal and external customers to establish effective problem resolution and process improvement toward the achievement of exceptional service.
  • Ensure employee education and training as well as quality audit programs are in place to support the service operation’s objectives, including building employee knowledge, skills and capabilities required to perform in their job function that will contribute to improved performance.
  • In partnership with other departments and other functional areas, perform research and analysis, undertake problem solving, and assist with implementation of new technology opportunities, systematic enhancements and other efficiency/effectiveness Claims Process Improvement programs for Mailroom and Claims Operations Support functions, toward the goal of delivering ever improving services.
  • Meet or exceed all budget targets.
  • Manage and oversee mailroom equipment, maintenance, invoices, and costs.
  • Undertake additional tasks and activities as assigned by direct Supervisor or senior leaders.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelors Degree required
  • Relevant Work Experience: 3-5 years management experience in a health care or operations
  • Travel: occasional overnight travel to MA required
