ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently seeking a dynamic Quality Research Analyst to join our team at our office in Rocky Hill, CT!   The Quality Research Analyst provides analytical support for clinical informatics, program evaluation, quality improvement and outcomes projects. Responsibilities include design and validation of summary report requests for the programming team, data management, and analysis including interpretation and presentation of results. Major focus of role will include creation of data visualizations, reports, and dashboards using Tableau for internal and external use. The Quality Research Analyst will work closely with and assist SQL Developers in interpreting specifications and ensuring standards for data definition and data extraction are followed.  They will also create test cases and perform testing to validate final datasets.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and manipulates data and reports from multiple sources, including authorizations and Medicaid claims for behavioral health, physical health, dental, and pharmacy.
  • Designs and maintains data, reports, and dashboards for tracking and reporting of clinical, quality, outcome, and research projects.
  • Develop functional and technical specifications for data extracts to be used for data analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with SQL Programmers to interpret, define, and document data extract specifications. 
  • Develop easy-to-understand charts, tables, and graphs for diverse audiences using Tableau.
  • Monitor and quickly address data issues as they arise and escalate issues and support resolution in collaboration with the Director of Quality Analytics and Data Visualization.
  • Primary tool will be Tableau, in addition to Excel and SAS EG, and SAS EM.
  • Completes analyses and prepares written reports that summarize methodology, analysis of study data, and provides interpretations and recommendations.
  • Shift priorities when necessary to support urgent business needs  
  • Collaborate with other Departments in order to interpret and assess needs of data requests.
  • Ensures the quality and timeliness of assigned deliverables, and is able to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong interest in behavioral health.
  • Detail-oriented with an understanding of quality improvement processes and related data skills.


Position Requirements:

Education :  Master's degree with a minimum of two years' experience in the healthcare/insurance data field or Bachelors with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the healthcare/insurance data field.  Candidates with degrees in behavioral health, public health, or statistics encouraged to apply

Relevant Work Experience:  Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience with data analysis and statistical principles required, preferably in a health care field.  Experience in data analysis and data presentation preferably related to behavioral health and managed care. Required proficiency in Tableau. Preferred proficiency in Excel and SAS EG.  Ability to work on cross-functional teams to support quality management/data analysis needs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Expert and proficient knowledge, skill and ability in MS Office products: 

  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
  • Analysis and problem solving, Collaboration and team-oriented work philosophy, Ability to manage and prioritize tasks
  • Tableau skills .

     Intermediate level knowledge, skill and ability with  SAS EG and/or EM
