Job Description


We are currently seeking a dynamic Accounting Clerk II to join our team at our office in Norfolk, VA.  The Accounting Clerk II, well versed in Excel, will be responsible for preparing assigned monthly bank reconciliations and completing unclaimed property due diligence and maintaining records in the Tracker software. This position involves heavy utilization of Excel, Outlook, On-Demand and reporting in the CAS claims system.  Assists the claims department with inquiries regarding outstanding checks.  Has frequent contact with agencies and the claims disbursement department regarding unclaimed property and reconciling items. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly assigned ASO and Risk bank reconciliations to include;
    • Utilize systems and processing steps necessary to produce accurate bank reconciliation documentation.
    • Research and resolve open issue(s) on assigned bank reconciliations
    • Reconcile unclaimed property reports
  • Process due diligence for unclaimed property.  Update and reconcile records in Tracker software.
  • Research and respond to claims department inquiries.
  • Verify all scanned ASO bank reconciliations.

  • Must have intermediate to advance knowledge level of excel.

Position Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Two-year Associates degree in Accounting preferred

Relevant Work Experience:   Must have bank reconciliation and/or account reconciliation experience, intermediate to advanced knowledge of excel.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word and Outlook
  • General Office Skills to include use of computer, copier, calculator, scanner and letter folding machine.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
