ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently seeking a dynamic Care Coordinator to join our team at our office in Austin, Texas. The Care Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Utilization Management Team, when a licensed clinician is not required. This position collaborates with clinical leadership to maintain operation efficiency within the team. Scheduling of work hours is in accordance with business needs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for routing utilization management requests, via fax and/or phone call to clinicians.

  • Update authorization information in Beacon’s clinical system.

  • Identify resources for Beacon members or providers including coordination of access to 24 hour levels of care with providers with indicated.

  • Data entry of outpatient treatment requests.

  • Data entry of out of network treatment requests and coordination of out of network request process.

  • Assist UM staff in addressing access to care issues by coordinating with Aftercare staff, UM staff and facility and community MH providers.

  • Work with supervisor on data collection.

  • Manage incoming faxes.

  • Serve as a backup support for all other administrative duties within the clinical department.

    Position Requirements:

    Education: High School diploma or GED required. A Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology or related field preferred.   

    Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in a managed care setting.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Share Point preferred.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
