We are currently seeking a dynamic Director, Network Strategy to join our team at our office in Boston, MA, Latham, NY, or Remote.  The Director, Network Strategy will be part of the Network Strategy team, and will be assigned multiple projects with multiple Network Strategy team leads. The Director will report to one of the VPs/AVPs of Network Strategy and will have frequent interactions and direct accountability to the Senior Vice President, Network Strategy.

The Director will be expected to drive the vision of new operating models as well as the participate in the internal and external change management required to realize the vision. The Director will partner with Beacon’s provider network, Corporate Strategy, and key Operations teams and will be adept at using informal influence to help build consensus and drive new model implementation. The Director will be a generalist capable of jumping into numerous projects and getting up to speed quickly to identify and deliver value.


Position Beacon as the leading managed behavioral health organization partner to behavioral health providers. Create a best-in-class provider experience, streamline Beacon network operations to support provider experience and be a sought-after internal thought partner on creating and maintaining a provider network that providers want to join.

Target Outcomes

  1. 1.In partnership with department leadership, identify 1-2 new provider initiatives to pilot each year (operational, clinical, administrative or financial)
  2. Complete a proposal on how Beacon should approach new market provider network builds by the end of 2017; execute this vision by end of 2018
  3. In partnership with department leadership, create new structure on how Beacon will interact with providers, including new contracting, re-contracting, provider customer service and in-market provider support by December 2017
  4. Increase provider NPS scores year-over-year through 2020

Position Requirements:

Education: Excellent academic performance. MBA or similar advanced degree, healthcare payer or provider work, and previous consulting work all a plus.

Relevant Work Experience:  

  • The Director must be comfortable working in a matrix organization. Experience in the U.S. healthcare payer market is strongly desired. \
  • 2-3 or more years’ experience in consulting or investment banking is strongly preferred.
