ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently seeking a dynamic Database Developer III to join our team at our office in Boston, MA. 

The Database Developer III is primarily responsible for providing decision support through reporting and data analysis supporting Beacon’s internal and external data/information customers. In addition this individual is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the activities necessary to insure the timely production and dissemination of accurate reports, data and management information. This individual will also act as the liaison between the data/information customers to provide requirement analysis and specification support for the data/information needs. This Individual will be responsible for project based analysis and reporting data projects and executive Ad doc report requests. He/she will provide data support by analysis using programming, conducting research and participating as a project team member.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data analysis, design and develop standardized management reporting tools.

  • Conducting ongoing requirement analysis for data needs for department/account managers and customers.

  • Creating data/reports specifications for IT technical for development.

  • Ensuring that the reports are created and generated accurately in a timely manner for review, analysis and subsequent submission to the customers.

  • Conducting project based data analysis and ad-hoc reporting.

  • Analyze and evaluate requests for reports and develop procedures to extract data from the various data sources and the corporate data warehouse using report writers and data extract tools.

  • Participate in the data warehouse design and development team.

  • Conduct training and implementation of the reporting system.

    Position Requirements:

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in information systems or equiv. work experience required.

    Relevant Work Experience:  

  • 4-6 years’ experience in a reporting, business environment

  • 4-6 years of hands-on reports development

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server Development (T-SQL, SSIS)

  • Must have knowledge of relational databases design and tuning

  • Proficient in report documentation and auditing procedures.

  • Must detail oriented and self starting and statistical savvy.

  • Ability to communicate complex information in simple terms.

  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
