ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently seeking a dynamic Behavioral Health Care Account and Community Engagement Manager to join our team at our office in Scotts Valley, CA.  The Account manager is responsible for Beacon’s Central Coast of California market.  The account manager provides a critical lynch pin between our client, key local stakeholders, and Beacon’s operational units. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of health care systems, managed care operations, and a passion for promoting Beacon’s mission of helping individuals live their lives to the fullest potential. Attention to detail and excellent customer service are keys to success for this position, along with establishing and maintaining positive relationships with community organizations and provider offices that enhance Beacon’s responsiveness to stakeholders and presence in the community.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for ensuring contract compliance and execution of all deliverables, including all contractual reporting requirements as outlined in delegation agreements.

  2. Actively cultivate key client, provider and community stakeholder relationships to advance Beacon’s standing on behalf of its current client base.

  3. Oversee analysis of program utilization, cost, quality and related performance indicators, and support sharing of this information with the plan.

  4. Attend relevant client and external meetings as necessary to deliver exceptional customer service and to execute on defined strategic goals.

  5. Actively engage internal subject matter experts necessary to achieve contractual and strategic goals for specified contract, State/region.

  6. Support the client, providers and community partners with issue research and resolution, education and training.

  7. Maintains quality service by monitoring standards; advising supervisor of potential problems, collecting and analyzing information, and preparing reports

  8. Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  9. Develop a high understanding of Medi-Cal and behavioral health delivery systems in California

  10. Ability to analyze program requirements and regulations.

  11. Be self-directed with the ability to recognize and capitalize upon opportunities to promote Beacon programs and services in many different venues.

  12. Share Beacon’s mission to help people live their lives to the fullest potential throughout the communities we service.

  13. Monitor NCQA/URAC, compliance and quality outcomes

  14. Other duties, as assigned.

    Position Requirements:

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree required

    Relevant Work Experience:  

  • 2+ years of experience working in a deadline driven environment and demonstrating organization skills with prioritizing several deliverables
  • 2+ years of provider relations or community engagement experience preferred
  • 2+ year working in managed care preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with conducting presentations, staff exhibits, event management, and performing other activities in an effort to maintain and establish positive relationships with providers and key community stakeholders.
  • Experience with financial and clinical data analysis and reporting required.
  • Leadership skills and operational management experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of accreditation frameworks such as AAAHC, NCQA, URAC preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize multiple issues, excellent organizational skills, ability to track multiple projects/tasks and follow through as needed.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate with internal and external departments.
  • Able to work collaboratively with internal staff and external agencies.
  • Must be detail oriented; able to work independently in an ever-changing environment.
  • Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
