Job Description


We are currently seeking a dynamic Behavioral Health Community and Provider Engagement Manager to join our team at our office in Scotts Valley, CA.  The Behavioral Health Community and Provider Engagement Manager will support issue resolution to provider and community partners in the assigned territory to support successful delivery of Beacon Health Options’ behavioral health services. This includes establishing and maintaining positive relationships with community organizations and provider offices, along with performing other activities that enhance Beacon’s responsiveness to our client, stakeholders, and the community and advances our mission of helping individuals live their lives to the fullest potential.

 Position Responsibilities:

  1. Advanced organizational and project management skills, with the ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.

  2. Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex information, assess problems, and develop effective solutions.

  3. Advanced interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

  4. Support providers and community partners with issue research and resolution.

  5. Field requests for information related to contracting and clinical program delivery and support coordination of education and training opportunities to providers and community stakeholders.

  6. Support the AVP of Client Partnerships in executing strategic activities and account goals by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and responding to requests.

  7. Maintains quality service by monitoring standards, advising supervisor of potential problems, collecting and analyzing information, and preparing reports.

  8. Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  9. Ability to analyze program requirements and regulations

  10. Ability to demonstrate excellent judgment, attention to process and detail

  11. Be self-directed with the ability to recognize and capitalize upon opportunities to promote Beacon programs and services in many different venues.

  12. A successful candidate will develop a high understanding of Medi-Cal and behavioral health delivery systems in California.

  13. Share Beacon’s mission to help people live their lives to the fullest potential throughout the communities we service.

  14. Other duties, as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in public health, social work or public policy strongly preferred

Licensures: Not required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Health Plans and/or Medicaid/public sector behavioral health and human services managed care operations is required

  • Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Master’s Degree in public health, social work or public policy with at least two years of recent experience working in community or behavioral health

  • High proficiency in Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint with ability to use Microsoft Excel to run analytical reports and summarize information

  • 2+ years of experience working in a deadline driven environment and demonstrating organization skills with prioritizing several deliverables

  • Experience conducting presentations, event management, and performing other activities in an effort to maintain and establish positive relationships with key community stakeholders.
